No material is inherently better than others. It all depends on what you're looking to get from the material. Ceramic materials provide a better base for esthetics in terms of shades, due to the fact that they are closer to a natural tooth color than metals. Metals on the other hand provide a stronger base for the crown and are less likely to break.
